The Big 29

Well, Mark has turned 29! Can you believe it? But he says he still feels young. I have news for you Mark - you are young!!
The kids came down on the long weekend to spend some time with us. The weather was absolutely terrible the whole weekend - windy, cold and rainy by times. So we spent a lot of time inside - playing bridge! Lots of fun. And of course, we had a birthday dinner, 2 days late. On the menu was surf (for mom and dad) and turf (for Mark and Margot), all done on the barbeque.

Margot brought dessert - really yummy and complete with real whipped cream, kisses and a candle!

Great pictures, the surf and turf especially has inspired our supper plans!
I don't have a clue about the bridge score, but judging from the comments I assume that Mark and Margot won?
29? Who remembers 29? I do remember the cute little guy at 2 or 3...pretty soon there will be another cute little one...

Yes sis, 12 weeks and counting! The kids are working on the nursery. All painted and complete with lambie ceiling border. Cute!
I am hosting a baby shower for Margot on July 9 - wish you were all closer so that you and Pat could be here. Should be fun - all the usual neighborhood riff-raff and a few relatives. Hope the weather is nice but we can always have it downstairs.

Wish we could be there too. I truly love shower games...ask anyone around here, they groan when the games start, but not me. I'm afraid the competitive streak is a little too strong.
Glad to hear about the shower though, I have a little something for the occasion.

Did I miss another birthday? Happy Birthday Mark. I am getting too old to keep up.

This is the first time I've seen a blog with close-up pictures of raw meat. But the dessert looks yummy.

We are off to the vet. this afternoon, in the wind and rain. That will be the end of the physicals for this year! Bailey's will cost more than the rest of us.

We are getting tickets to an Ann Mortifee concert here on June 10. She lives on Cortez Island apparently.

David will be on Vancouver Island June 2/3 so we'll go to see him,(redesigning friends' summer house in Parksville) then over June 14 so K. can give blood.
