Oslo - Viking Ship Museum and Norwegian Folk Museum

Here is one of the three Viking long ships on exhibit in the museum. It was found buried along the city's fjord.

In the museum were many items recovered from the burial mounds of chieftains, including sleds, implements and gold and silver jewelry. This well-preserved cart dating from 800 A.D. was unearthed during 19th century excavations.

Another example of the Viking's shipbuilding artisanship

We also visited the Norwegian Folk Museum, a vast exhibition showing the way town and country people used to live in bygone days.
