O'Briens Whale and Bird Watching Tour Boat

The area that we visited is the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve near Bay Bulls. It consists of four islands which are important seabird breeding areas. The islands have the largest Atlantic puffin colony in North America (260,000 pairs) and the second largest Leach's storm-petrel colony in the world (620,000 pairs, though the birds are seldom seen because they spend daylight hours at sea).

This is the boat returning from a previous outing and they saw whales!!

Danny Boy, the Newfie dog, welcomes each tour as they return to port.

Waiting for our boat to come in!!!

Common Murre

Atlantic Puffin

The puffin is quite clumsy on land and on the surface of the water but underwater, they manoeuver with amazing agility.
