A Dali sculpture of a timepiece located beside the Eye
The London Eye was created to celebrate the millennium and is the world's tallest observation wheel. It rises to a height of 443 feet and moves at a speed of .85 feet per second. It takes 30 minutes to make a complete revolution and gives stunning panoramic views of up to 25 miles.
There are 32 capsules in all and each capsule can accommodate 25 passengers. There is a bench in the centre for those who do not wish a front row view.
This photograph featuring Big Ben and the House of Parliament is taken near the top of the revolution.
