Taken through the window from the great room

It is only quite recently that we have been able to lure the cardinals out of hiding. For a long while, only one female was coming to the feeders (or so we thought). Then once while I was watching we had 4 females and a couple of males come at the same time. Unfortunately they were reluctant to share the seed and would chase each other away.

This picture was taken in early January. We have a lot more snow now. This photo reminds me of the Robert Bateman's painting of his Labrador retriever.
