Just some sights along the way....

Old Bank Museum at Riverside-Albert, NB

One of the many murals of Amherst, NS - this one dedicated to the contribution made by women to the community. Did you know that Amherst is the geographical midpoint of the Atlantic provinces?

Seashore in front of Christy Carlyle's cottage (Pauline's friend) near Pictou, NS

Notice the overcast skies as we cross to Cape Breton Island...

Baddeck Harbor

Alexander Graham Bell Museum

View from the Bell Museum

Bridal Veil at the Bell Museum

Hopewell Rocks, Bay of Fundy, NS

Ocean tides have carved the Flower Pot Rocks, pillars of sandstone and conglomerate rock with balsam fir and dwarf spruce growing on top. We walked on the ocean beach below the rocks. This area is open from 3 hours before low tide until 3 hours after low tide. At high tide, the rocks resemble islands.

Tides the height of a four-storey building are not unheard of. It is almost unbelievable. But apparently the Bay of Fundy acts like a bathtub and that is why the tides reach such heights.
