Niece Sheri, Drew and the Twins

Sheri, Declan, McKala and Drew

What a wicked smile!

McKala knows how to pose for pictures!

How do you feed twins without highchairs? One spoonful for McKala, one for Declan...

Tallinn Old Town Fortification Walls

The Old Town is completely surrounded by ancient fortification walls.

Notice the very narrow cobblestone roadway.

Final Thoughts on Tallinn, Estonia

Tallinn gained its independence from Russia in the early 1990s but one can still see the influence of Russia in the traditional style of Moscow churches of the 17th century.

Panoramic view of Lower Town from the highest point of Old Town. Tallinn, along with Copenhagen, were my favorite stops on this cruise. The people here are very friendly, helpful and love to barter at the open air markets. The city is very clean and quaint - just like I thought European cities would look like!

My Favorite St. Petersburg Memory

This is the Church of our Savior on Spilled Blood, recently opened after 25 years of restoration. It was constructed in 1907 on the spot where Alexander II was assassinated.

It is adorned with 9 onion domes and ceramics.

The Church imitates Russian architecture of the XVI century.

This is the sight that greets the cruise ship passengers when we dock. My overall impression of St. Petersburg is that it is not a warm city. The buildings are absolutely huge and set far back from the street. It is hard to find a smiling Russian. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that St. Petersburg receives on average only 30 days of sunshine a year.

Thanksgiving 2007

Joshua has a fascination with opening and closing doors - keeps him busy for hours!

He and Chloe slipped into the spare bedroom and found some stuffed toys to play with.

It wasn't long before Joshua figured out how to open Chloe's crate door and you guessed it - he just had to go in! As you can see Chloe sticks to him like glue.

St. Petersburg Russia

The amazing Peacock Clock, made from 14 carat gold, fans its tail and moves about on the hour.

The Hermitage is filled with huge paintings like this one.

Small painting by Leonardo da Vinci, 1452

The contoured ceilings, chandeliers, magnificent halls and staterooms rival those of Buckingham Palace.
