On Land and Sea
As I mentioned in an earlier post, the Blackberry festival was in full swing the week we were in Powell River. Here are the folks returned with full pails from picking just around the corner from their house. The admiral lending a handHey Ken, who is manning the tiller??After a dinner out at the Shinglemill
West Coast Nature
Every day we would exercise Bailey, either by walking along the beach or by treking into the forest. Pat and Ken showed us this wonderful rainforest type recreation area, complete with walking trail in the forest. Lots of oregon berries. But you had to be careful not to step on these black slugs! Pat looks like she is the king of the castle or is she just showing off her girlish figure!! Looking good! This is a banana slug. Ugh!
Sailing, sailing,... 3rd Attempt (Better be worth it!)
The first two pictures were taken after sailing across Malaspina Strait which separates the Sunshine Coast from Texada Island. We had fished with the down rigger en route and caught a ling cod and missed another. Here we are enjoying a picnic lunch at the Van Anda marina.Sailing on the chuck with the captain at the tiller and the admiral supervising. Even Bailey comes along but finds that sleeping in the galley keeps her out of trouble!
